That is what used to be a piston. For those that don't know, it's a bad thing. Piston parts don't belong in the erl pan.

Kinja'd!!!

That's where a good piston should be. The wrist pin did some nice work on the bore.

I found piston fragments in all remaining cylinders.

And, somehow a good chunk of piston caused one of the main bearing caps to crack by weging itself between the main girdle and crank.

So, the 4.7 stroker dream is dwindling.

I suggest you keep it mopar and swap a 440

There's gotta be a scrapyard nearby with an MJ, TJ, WJ, XJ, YJ, or ZJ you could get another 4.0 out of.

I didn't think breaking a 4.0 was possible...

In 99 ChryCo did a "clean sheet" redesign of the 4.0 in the GC. The 99-06 block won't interchange.

Oddly the "classic" Cherokee got the old block.

If there was only a way.

It was hard enough stuffing a 440 into a Duster with a /6 K member.

Nope, it'd be fun but nopers.

I bought her locked up. Apparently it's not too uncommon to blow a piston on newer 4.0s.

Well since the XJ only had a couple years left in production, it wouldn't make sense to change it.

Damn. I ran mine for 20 mins with a walnut sized hole in the sump and still only had a tiny bit of metal in the sump.

Maybe find someone else's stroker/V8 project and part it out?
